We also have a ‘Black Moon’ on December 30 th, with the second New Moon in a month with two. The Moon also reaches its closest perigee for 2024 on March 10 th at 356,893 kilometers distant, and is at its farthest apogee on October 2 nd at 406,516 kilometers distant. The path of the Moon continues its trek towards the Major Lunar Standstill in early 2025, riding extra high versus the ecliptic and the horizon in the winter season, and low in the summer.
